Arctic Monkeys - Crying Lightning

The first single from Arctic Monkeys' new album Humbug was premiered today on the BBC's Zane Lowe show. Entitled 'Crying Lightning', the track opted to stray away from the boys' trademark, raw and straightfoward style. It's on the darker side of the Arctic spectrum, and the presence of producer Josh Homme's stoner rhythm influence is strongly felt. The military pounding of drums, and distinctively piercing riffs, coupled with Turner's dark and low vocal, this track is simply awesome. I can predict that the album will be filled with this dark maturity that the Monkeys have been displaying as of late. The Josh Homme/James Ford produced 'Humbug' is due out on August 25. Can't hardly wait!
