Mercy, Mercy Me

Eddie & Jules

The Strokes team up with Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder and Queens Of The Stone Age's Josh Homme to record a cover of Marvin Gaye's classic hit "Mercy Mercy Me". The song will be a b-side of You Only Live Once" single which is scheduled to be released in mid July. Well, you don't have to wait until July, here is the mp3:

The 50th Post

Lacking topic to write, no World Cup matches today, La Selección's journey to the cup has ended, Razorlight's new album is not leaked yet, AND Patrick tagged me, so I shall just write six weird facts/things/habits about myself.

6 Weird Facts:
  • I am a cynic.
  • I hate those of my age who conform to uniformity.
  • I ridicule the elitist attitude of a bunch of schooling kids who form a certain 'clan' among themselves.
  • I hate people who pretend they know football, while in fact they know nothing other than the most over-hyped league of the overrated island football nation.
  • I don't hop on bandwagon, I create one.
  • I dislike people's taste in music.

6 Weird Things:

  • I wish my hair is like that of Andrew Stockdale from Wolfmother.

    Andrew Stockdale

  • Car modifications are distasteful.
  • I've never seen The Strokes live. (shame)
  • Mr.Yorke wanted to sue me.
  • I hate Black Eyed Peas. Fergie is ugly. She's had too much of brow lift or botox and she pees on her pants!

    You call this hot!? Eww

  • I have an emo friend though he never admit it.

6 Weird Habits:

  • I don't drink coffee.
  • I eat Snickers for breakfast.
  • I don't eat yolk.
  • I wash my jeans once a year.
  • I drive slow and steady.
  • I read music blogs.

The rule is to tag another 6 bloggers and they should write their 6 weird facts/things/habits. I won't tag anyone here, feel free to do it if you want to.

Don't you just hate me?

Billy Talent II

Billy Talent II

Punk revivalist quartet Billy Talent is back with their sophomore LP. Billy Talent II, is the Canadian band’s new musical offer since the 2003 release of their breakthrough self-titled debut. Scheduled to be released on 27th June 2006, it was leaked onto the internet 8 days earlier.

This record is a viciously catchy 47 minutes with angst-filled guitar tones and some shout-along choruses. One of the stand-out differences from their debut is the way vocalist Ben Kowalewicz has tempered his screeching lungs of steel to reveal his inner punk rock crooner. One of my favourite track "Where Is The Line?" is the most unlikely of the sounds and styles that fans were first introduced to on their first record.

Tracklisting:
1. Devil In A Midnight Mass
2. Red Flag
3. This Suffering
4. Worker Bees
5. Pins And Needles
6. Fallen Leaves
7. Where Is The Line? [download]
8. Covered In Cowardice [download]
9. Surrender
10. In The Fall [download]
11. Perfect World
12. Sympathy
13. Burn The Evidence

Happy Father's Day

Homer

Homer Simpson may not be the best dad, but surely he is the craziest dad on TV, and on the occasion of Fathers' Day he definitely deserves some Duff beer. My father is nothing at all like Homer, perhaps the only resemblance is the big belly, I consider myself to be lucky because having a dad like Homer is almost disastrous.

Dad, you rock! Happy Father's Day.

Drummer Boy

Fabrizio Moretti

Hope I wasn't too late on posting this, yesterday was Fabrizio Moretti's 26th birthday. The drummer of NY coolest band The Strokes is dating actress Drew Barrymore, and a trademark of his is vintage Coca-Cola shirts. The curly-haired Fab shares his birthday with Charlie Watts, also a drummer of legendary rock band The Rolling Stones. Since the World Cup craze is sweeping the whole world, I shall just throw in a little soccer bits - yesterday was also Argentinian young sensation, Sergio Agüero's birthday. Also sharing the same birthday are Keane's pianist Tim Rice-Oxley and American geeky actor Justin Long.

Speaking of drums, I will be attending my first drumming lesson at Ironwood tommorow. Some might think there's nothing to shout about, but I am very excited for I've been wanting it for so long. Guess I shall wear the one and only vintage Coca-Cola shirt of mine to hit those drums!

Sufjan Stevens - Happy Birthday
