After All These Years

Silverchair

I can't believe Daniel Johns is still in his 20s, it was like the band has been around for ages. In fact, they are really rock veterans for their music career spans over 11 years. The boys were only 15 when their debut 'Frogstomp' hit various charts and made Silverchair one of Australia’s most successful modern rock bands. Over the years, Silverchair has evolved from some angst-ridden grunge kids to more mature and sensible sound with a little experimental touch, for instance, the orchestral arrangements in their last album 'Diorama'. But that was 5 years ago, so we will never know what the band could possibly come back with. The band's fifth studio album Young Modern is set to be released on 31st March 2007. This is one exciting news, I am ready to open my ears. Then again, it's Silverchair, and judging from the first single 'Straight Lines', there could be some good stuff.

"Eyes Wide Open" is teriffic, shoulda been the first single. Plus, what's up with UK bands and and the word "Eyes" in the titles (e.g., Snow Patrol: "Eyes Open" "Open Your Eyes" "Shut Your Eyes"). Gives new meaning to the term "quite an eyeful"
